ORAS Update July 26, 2014
Today we got a video from Pokemon Get TV with some cool gameplay footage from the Gen III remakes. We didn't get too much information, but what we did get was interesting.
First of all, the beginnings of fights against Team Aqua/Magma, there is an opening cinematic where there is a fire or water across the screen in front of the team emblem.
However, the biggest reveal is that both Archie and Maxie have mega stones on them.
Could this be the reveal of the Mega Camerupt/Mega Sharpedo everyone has been predicting? (Keep in mind, these are only predicted concept arts)

YouTube Spotlight! TheNationalDex
Hey there Pokemon Fans! I've been watching Youtube videos on Pokemon for as long as I can remember, but this year I found a new channel that I really enjoyed, TheNationalDex. Alex Faciane and PokeKellz are the two members of the Dex, the weekly Pokemon trivia and Battle Strategy show. The show is very interesting, talking about different topics, such as Pokemon myths, to real world science, to game mechanics about specific Pokemon. At the end of each episode, they discuss a few possible move-sets for the Pokemon, giving the show a nice balance between interesting trivia as well as an experiment to try with each Pokemon competitively.
Each Friday they host a show called the Dex VS. This show pits the two members against each other in a themed battle, such as Gym leader battles, monotype battles, or even Pokemon featured on the Dex.
Recently they have expanded their channel to include a "talk-through" of Pokemon X/Y, discussing various aspects of the game and answering fan questions at the end. A brand new show is also just starting called Rate my Team, where Alex battles other YouTube battlers and they see if they can beat his team.
If you are looking for a Pokemon show to watch on Youtube, check out the NationalDex!

Fighting a Fairy? Pick your Poison (Type)
In Generation VI, a new type was added for the first time in 14 years. This addition added some good balance to the competitive scene, weakening the extremely strong Dragon type. It also gave a new advantage to the Poison type, which was lacking many offensive capabilities, only possessing an advantage to Grass.
In my recent play-through of Pokemon X, I used a Pokemon I've never used before- Drapion. With the introduction of Fairy type, I decided to add a Poison type to my team, and I thought Drapion looked cool, so I chose to use it, and after the play-through I was impressed.
It's typing allows it to be immune to a common weakness of Poison, as Dark is immune to Psychic. The Poison typing also allows it to be damaged neutrally by Fighting, instead of Super Effective damage if it was a pure Dark. This typing allows it to only be x2 weak to Ground.
Stat wise, it is surprisingly Defensive. with base 110 Defense. It is also rather fast with base 95 speed. And it also has a base attack of 90.
It has a good move-pool, with coverage in the form of the Elemental Fangs. It also has access to the move, Knock Off. Many people consider this the most powerful move in the game, as it gains a 50% power boost if the target is holding an item along with STAB.
It also has the ability Sniper. This ability takes advantage of the new Critical Hit mechanic of Gen VI, increasing the strength of Critical Hits from 1.5 to 2.25 the normal damage. In conjunction with moves that get increased Critical Hit ratios, such as Cross Poison, Night Slash, or the egg move Slash, and a Scope Lens, Sniper Drapion is at Critical Hit stage of 3, meaning 50% of the time it will get a Critical Hit.
My personal Drapion is Adamant with 252 Evs in Attack and Speed and 4 in HP.
I hope you all enjoyed my ideas on Drapion, and I hope it works as well for you as it has for me.

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire News July 14, 2014
Today we received some news about the Gen III remakes. We saw new pictures of the gyms, leaders, and E4 members, as well as seeing the Mega form of a fan favorite Pokemon, Metagross.
I have posted the video revealing all of today's information here.
In addition to what was confirmed, a popular theory among some fans revolves around Sidney's bracelet pictured here.
In this picture, you can see something that appears to be similar to a mega ring. I personally think that it could be linked to a Mega-Absol, as it is his highest leveled Pokemon in R/S/E, however, it appears it may have something to do with his Shiftry. As shown, Phoebe has a Dusknoir now as her main Pokemon, and Sidney has a Shiftry next to him. Could this possibly be a new Mega? Only time will tell as days tick down until the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire!
